Belmont, Alabama.

A quiet bend in the river along the backroads where time seems to stand still, even as the world rushes past. It’s a place stitched together with front porches and winding dirt roads, framed by thick woods, rolling hillsides, and cliffs that hold the echoes of generations gone by.

For me, it’s more than a dot on a map — it’s family. The “Dr. Hester Circle” sign nods to my great-granddaddy, the town’s doctor, whose name is woven into the very heart of this place. Belmont is where memory lingers in the air, where history feels alive, and where the simple things — sunsets, neighbors, quiet mornings — matter most.

It’s also home to the hunting camp where my Popson’s trophy wall wasn’t just about the deer mounts — it was about the Polaroids. Dozens of snapshots tacked up over the years, each one telling a story: early mornings in the stand, muddy boots by the fire, cousins grinning with their first buck. That wall held the heartbeat of this place — proof that Belmont isn’t just where you hunt, it’s where you belong.
